Shaynah was originally licensed as a cosmetologist in 1994 in California and has established her roots in Amarillo after moving to Texas in 1995. Shaynah added the name "Scissorhands" when she realized that a cut makes everything (color, texture etc.) come together.
Shaynah specializes in finding that special style that you will enjoy and that will bring out your natural beauty and personality. As a stylist, Shaynah, enjoys working one-on-one with each client to find the best style and upkeep that fits them best. Shaynah enjoys Block Coloring, a set of techniques first started by Paul Mitchell. You can see books in the salon with Block Coloring Ideas.
There is a one-week warranty on all hair services because Shaynah knows that the true test of a hairstyle is going to come when you get home and have to style your hair for yourself. If you decide that you need some tweaks just text or call within a week of your service and Shaynah will get you scheduled at no additional charge.
Shaynah accepts cash, check, Visa, MC and Discover card for payment. Gift certificates are also available to purchase. Shaynah sells Paul Mitchell products and stocks other styling tools as well.

Shaynah was blessed with the love of her life, Shannon, and they have been married since November 13, 1999. Like all marriages, they have weathered many ups and downs. For several years, S&S kept God at arms length and tried to make their marriage work their own way. Doing that only caused them to grow further apart and added more conflict.
In 2005, God finally caught the attention of both Shannon and Shaynah and He started softening their hearts toward Him and each other. Since that time God has continued to work in and through their lives to encourage and strengthen other marriages. They truly live out the saying, "live, laugh, love!" S&S like to share their lives with others as well as their love for humor while finding ways to be silly and just enjoy each other while embracing love above all!
God blessed S&S with the marriage of their dreams on their 10th wedding anniversary in 2009. That wedding "took the cake" to their first and blessed them with special memories of getting to say "I do" all over again in front of their friends and family.
Shaynah celebrates that God made creativity and He has given her so many avenues to express the creativity He has blessed her with. Shaynah lists hairstyling, jewelry making, scrapbooking, journaling, decorating, trying new restaurants, and cooking new recipes among her joys in life. Shaynah manages to enjoy her hobbies as well as being a cat mommy and enjoys fur-babies of all kinds.
Shaynah began her line of jewelry in 2010 after pursuing a desire to learn the art of jewelry making. It became more than just a hobby and time to express her creativity- it became a passion that truly comes from her heart through stringing beads. Shaynah is inspired by her friends and their personalities and finds herself creating unique and meaningful jewelry. Shaynah delights in making jewelry to fit your desires or personality and can even take a piece of jewelry you have and incorporate or re-purpose that into a new work of wearable art. My friend Belinda Lewis has caught the jewelry designing bug! She has helped co-design dozens of pieces and sets with me for over a year and has recently become a designer & learned how to make them herself.
She is especially drawn to natural stones, and unique or unusual shapes of beads. Like me, she will make only one of each designed piece or set so that they are truly unique and one of a kind.
